GATE 2021 online Form – IIT Bombay has started GATE registration 2021 from September 11 i.e three days in advance of the scheduled date. GATE application form 2021 is now available online on the official website gate.iitb.ac.in. Last date to register for GATE 2021 is September 30. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE 2021 exam will be conducted on February 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14.
GATE exam 2021 will have two new subjects – GATE Humanities and Social Science (XH) and Environmental Engineering (ES). GATE humanities syllabus and also syllabus of GATE environmental engineering is provided here. Details about GATE 2021 dates including GATE syllabus, revised eligibility criteria, GATE 2021 registration date, exam date, admit card and result is provided below. A relaxation in GATE eligibility criteria has been introduced in GATE 2021 due to COVID-19, situation according to which, candidates in their third year of undergraduate degree will also be eligible to appear in GATE 2021.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit for applying to GATE. Also, the addition of humanities and social science paper will also allow candidates from arts and commerce background to appear for the exam.

What is the use of GATE Exam?
Following are the reasons why one should appear for GATE 2021:
PSU Recruitment
By qualifying GATE 2021, candidates will be eligible for PSUs Recruitment. The process of PSU Recruitment will consist of an interview or test. However, some companies can also directly recruit on the basis of GATE scores. Candidates must note that the number of PSUs participating in the recruitment process are increasing, moreover, top companies are also getting involved in it.
Jobs
Apart from PSU, GATE qualified candidates will also be able to apply for various jobs like a Professor or Asst. Professor in reputed institutes. Moreover, Scientists “C” grade jobs can also be acquired by candidates who have qualified GATE. Apart from these organizations, some of the private firms also use GATE score to select candidates.
Masters and PhD Programme Admissions
GATE qualified will also be able to apply for admission into IITs, NITs, GFTIs, IISc and many other institutes for higher studies. Not only this, candidates can also avail some reserved seats at IIMs for doctoral programme admissions. Based on the GATE score, Institutes like IIT Bombay offers admissions to PhD., PGDM and PGDIE programmes.
Study Abroad
Not only India, candidates who have GATE scores will be able to apply for studies in other countries like Germany, Singapore also.
Fellowship
Candidates with GATE scores are eligible for scholarships provided by MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). Also, Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowships (SRF) by CSIR laboratories are also offered to them. Along with this, candidates are allotted financial aid of Rs. 12,400 per month in the form of UGC scholarship. Candidates are also given stipend by BARC.
GATE 2021 Paper Codes
The authorities will conduct GATE 2021 for 27 papers. Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Science (XH) have been introduced as a new addition this year. All of the candidates should know the paper code of their respective GATE 2021 paper. While registering for the examination, the candidates will be asked to fill details about paper codes. Without knowing the paper codes of GATE 2021, the candidates are advised not to fill the application form.

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2021
The parameters that candidates will have to meet to be eligible to appear for the examination will be listed in the eligibility criteria of GATE 2021. Ineligible candidates could get their applications cancelled.

Nationality – One needs to be a citizen of India. However candidates from other countries can apply for GATE 2021 if they meet the given eligibility criteria.

GATE Application Form 2021
IIT Bombay has released the GATE 2021 application form on September 11 in online mode at gate.iitb.ac.in. In order to access the registration form or application form of GATE 2021, candidates will have to register at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Only those candidates will register, fill and submit the registration form of GATE 2021 will be able to appear for entrance examination. For the reference, mentioned below are the steps that candidates will have to follow for GATE 2021 registration.
Steps to Fill GATE 2021 Application Form
Step 1 – Get Register – All the eligible candidates will have to register through GOAPS. Candidates will have to enter their name, email ID and mobile number during registration. On successful registration, an enrollment number will be generated. For login purposes, candidates will also have to create their choice of password and keep it safe
Step 2 – Fill Application Form – After registration, the candidates will have to enter all the requisite details in registration form like personal, educational and contact information. Along with this, details related to college and valid photo ID also need to be filled in the application form of GATE 2021. The candidates will also have to select their choice of GATE paper and exam centres.
Step 3 – Upload Scanned Images – The photograph, signature and category certificate (if applicable) will have to be scanned and uploaded as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities.
Step 4 – Pay Application Fees – Pay the application fee as per the category one belongs to in online mode i.e., net banking/debit card/credit card.

The authorities will publish the list of marked defects in the submitted registration form. Candidates will have to edit or rectify the highlighted defects within the given time period. GATE Exam Centres 2021
The list of venues where the entrance examination will be conducted will constitute the exam centres of GATE 2021. During GATE 2021 registration, the candidates will have to select an exam centre in order of their preference. Allotment of GATE 2021 exam centres will be done as per preference and availability. GATE Syllabus 2021
IIT Bombay has released the syllabus of GATE 2021 in online mode. The syllabus consists of the subjects and topics that candidates will have to study to prepare for the exam. Since the syllabus of each paper is different, the candidates will have to check according to the discipline that they select. GATE Mock Test 2021
IIT Bombay will release the mock test of GATE 2021. Through the mock test, the candidates will be able to get familiar with the exam pattern of GATE 2021. GATE 2021 mock test is a stimulation of the real exam and will help candidates in preparing for the upcoming examination. Authorities releases separate mock tests for the various papers conducted by them. The mock test will be 3 hours long and will consist of objective type questions.

GATE Admit Card 2021
The authorities will release the GATE 2021 hall ticket on January 8. All registered candidates will be able to download the admit card/hall ticket from the official website after it will be issued. If any candidate’s applications get rejected due to some reasons, they will not be able to access the admit card. Details related to the entrance examination such as venue, timings and more will be available on the admit card of GATE 2021. While reporting at the examination centre, the candidates will be required to carry their GATE admit card 2021. Without the admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to appear for the examination. Along with the hall ticket, a photo identity proof also needs to be produced. GATE Answer Key 2021
Candidates will be able to access GATE 2021 answer key tentatively in the third week of February. The authorities will first release provisional answer key and after evaluating the feedback final answer key of GATE 2021 will be issued. GATE answer key 2021 will consist of correct answers to the questions asked in the examination. The answer key of GATE 2021 can be used to calculate probable scores by following official marking scheme. Objections against the provisional answer key will be accepted by the authorities tentatively in the third week of February. Payment of Rs. 500 has to be made by the candidates for every challenge. After checking all of the objections sent by the authorities, the final answer key of GATE 2021 will be released. Candidates can refer to the previous years’ GATE answer key for the reference.

GATE Question Papers 2021
The authorities will release the official question papers of GATE 2021 for all the candidates who will appear for the entrance exam. Candidates will be able to check the question papers of GATE 2021 by login to their account. Through the question papers, the candidates will get to know the type of questions asked as well details about the weightage and division of topics in the syllabus. GATE Response Sheet 2021
IIT Bombay will release the response sheet of GATE 2021 tentatively in second week of February. Candidates will be able to check their recorded responses through the released sheet in online mode. To check the response sheet, the candidates will have to log in using their enrolment ID and password.
GATE 2021 College Predictor
Careers360 has developed the tool, GATE 2021 college predictor for the candidates to know which colleges they are likely to get admission in based on their probable/secured scores. Candidates will be able to access the college predictor of GATE 2021 after the declaration of result. It’s an online tool which is simple and easy to use. Details such as GATE score out of 1000, GATE marks out of 100, caste, paper and more will have to be submitted to compute the list of eligible colleges. This will also allow the candidates to be prepared for the various counselling and admission sessions.
GATE Result 2021
IIT Bombay will announce the result of GATE 2021 on March 22. In order to access the result candidates will have to log in using their GATE enrolment ID/email address/registration ID and password. Through the result, the candidates will be able to check their scores out of 100, qualifying marks for GATE paper, All India Rank and more. The scores will be calculated by using the raw scores secured by the candidates in their respective GATE paper. For those papers which have multiple sessions, a normalization process will be adopted by the authorities.

GATE Score Card 2021
After the result is announced, the scorecard of GATE 2021 will be made available for downloading. The score card will be released tentatively in the third week of March. Only those candidates who have met the qualifying cutoff will be allotted rank and allowed to download the rank card. Information such as score out of 1000, raw score, category wise qualifying marks, rank and more will be present in the GATE 2021 score card.
Note: The candidates will have to note that the score card will be valid for three years from the date of result declaration.

GATE Cutoff 2021
The qualifying marks that the candidates are required to secure to have higher chances of admission will constitute GATE 2021 cutoff. Candidates should note that the cutoff of each GATE 2021 paper will be different. The cutoff can be found in the result of GATE 2021 released by the authorities. Different criteria related to the entrance examination will be checked by the authorities while preparing the GATE cutoff 2021.

GATE Counselling 2021
IIT Bombay will not conduct common counselling for GATE 2021. Since there is no centralized counselling process through GATE, the candidates will have to apply individually for admission into M.Tech courses. The rank and scores secured in GATE 2021 will be checked by the various institutes during the admission procedure. Those candidates who are interested in IIT admissions will be able to use a common portal which is GATE COAP. For NIT admissions, the candidates can register through CCMT. Candidates are advised to check individual institute information for details about admissions.

GATE COAP 2021
GATE Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is a common portal which is activated for IIT admissions. Through COAP, candidates who have qualified GATE 2021 will be able to apply for M.Tech admissions into IITs. The list of IIT admissions offers will be presented to the candidates out of which they will have to select their preference. Selection of IITs has to be done by the candidates after registration.The candidates will also have to separately apply at the individual IITs for some cases.

PSU Recruitment Through GATE 2021
GATE qualified candidates will also be eligible to apply for recruitment into PSUs.Candidates who will have good GATE scores will be eligible for PSU recruitments. Through PSU recruitment, the candidates can get a job in popular companies such as HPCL, ONGC, BSNL and more. The PSU recruitment process consists of the application and then an interview/test followed by recruitment. However, there are some cases where direct admissions will also be done i.e., without any test or interview.

GATE 2021 Notification FAQs
- When will I receive my Admit Card?
Admit Card can ONLY be downloaded from the GOAPS website from 8th January 2021. Admit Cards will NOT be sent by post or as an e-mail attachment.
- For how many GATE papers can I apply?
A candidate can apply for ONE or TWO subject papers(from the given set of combinations as per Table 4.2a) of the 27 papers listed in the GATE INFORMATION BROCHURE or GATE website. The choice of the appropriate paper is the responsibility of the candidate.
Combinations other than the listed ones are NOT allowed.
Some guidelines in this respect are suggested below:
The candidate is expected to appear in paper(s) [up to two as per the given set of combinations in Table 4.2a] appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree.
The candidate is, however, free to choose any other paper according to his/her admission plan, keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wishes to seek admission. - After submission of application, am I permitted to change my GATE Examination City?
YES. ONLY after the last date for application submission, a request for the change of examination city will be entertained against additional payment till 13th November, 2020. Any request after this date will NOT be considered.
- What are the details of the guidelines that will be followed about PwD candidates writing GATE 2021 examination?
