The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts it’s Regional Rural Banks (RRB) exam to select officers who will fill posts in nationalized rural banks across the country. The IBPS RRB exam is conducted for recruitment to four different posts:
- IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
- IBPS RRB Officer Scale I
- IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II ( Generalist & Specialist)

IBPS RRB Syllabus: Exam Pattern
The IBPS RRB Syllabus along with the exam pattern for the assistant post is discussed here.
- For IBPSC RRB Clerk, there will be two stages of Exam, || Prelims | Main ||
- For IBPS PO or Officer Scale I, there will be three stages of Exam, || Prelims | Mains | Interview ||
- For IBPS Officer Grade-II (General Banking Officer and Specialist Cadre) and III, there will be a single-window exam:

IBPS RRB Prelims Exam Pattern For Clerk
A composite time of 45 minutes is provided to candidates to complete two sections namely Reasoning and Numerical Ability. Candidates must clear the cut-off of each section. The cut-off for each section is decided by the team of IBPS depending on the level of difficulty of the paper

IBPS RRB Syllabus: Officer Grade Exam Pattern
IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I Exam is conducted in 3 different phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
- Interview Process

The IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Exam for Mains will be of a total of 200 marks of 2 hours. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

IBPS RRB Syllabus: Officer Scale II Exam Pattern
There will be a single level exam for IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II Post. Selection will be made. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Single Examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.
Depending on the number of vacancies available, adequate number of candidates in each category not exceeding three times of the declared vacancies shall be called for interview, subject to availability. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

IBPS RRB Syllabus: Interview Process
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for the post of Officers Scale I, II & III will be subsequently called for an interview coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Bank with the help of NABARD. The interview will be conducted in select centers. The address of the centers will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.
The marks for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview for Officers Scale, I, II and III will be as per extant guidelines. Only by qualifying both in the Online Examination (Main/Single) and Common Interview with sufficiently high marks will candidates be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, the details of which will be made available on the official IBPS website.

Ans. You can apply for the post of IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose), Officer Scale I, II, and III. However, one can apply only for one post under Officer Scale.
- What is the duration and marks of the IBPS RRB Exam?
Ans. IBPS RRB Prelims Exam will be of 45 minutes of 80 marks. The IBPS RRB Mains Exam will be of 200 marks of 2 hours. The duration is different for the IBPS Officer Scale Post.
- Is there negative marking for IBPS RRB Exam?
Ans. Yes, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. There is negative marking for prelims, mains and single written test exams under RRB.
